COURSE DESCRIPTION AND INTENDED AUDIENCE
The intended audience for this course is healthcare staff responsible for 12 Lead EKG interpretation. This 2 day course is designed to present a broad overview of principles and provide opportunities for practice and feedback.

PARTICIPANT OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to...

1. Discuss the elements of a 12 lead EKG that must routinely be assesses.

2. Determine the mean QRS axis from a 12 lead EKG.

3. Differentiate between right and left bundle branch blocks.

4. Identify ischemic and infarct changes on the EKG.

5. Identify various chamber enlargements on the 12 lead EKG.
6. Assess narrow and wide QRS tachycardias.

7. Identify EKG changes seen with genetic disorders.

8. Relate the changes seen on the EKG from the effects of drugs and electrolytes.

Linda Moulton RN MS
is a cardiovascular educator, medical writer and editor, and researcher, and owner of Critical Care ED and CCE Consulting, New Berlin, IL. She has taught 12 Lead EKG content for over 30 years. She has taught across the US, for HRS and for industry. She manages the www.orderanddisorder.com website.

Hotel Accommodations

Chicago: Hilton O’Hare December 5 & 6, 2011

The conference will be held at the Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport, O’Hare International Airport, Chicago 60666. Phone 773-686-8000; Fax: 773-601-2873. The hotel is attached to Terminal 2 of the airport. Critical Care Ed has reserved rooms for participants and their guests. A special room rate is in effect based on availability from December 1 through the night of December 9:  $129 per night plus taxes and fees. All guests should make reservations directly with the hotel at 877-865-5322.  Please request Group rate for ‘Critical Care Education’.  Reservations must include first night’s deposit to be guaranteed.  Major credit cards are acceptable to establish pre-payment.  Be sure to request written confirmation of your registration. An early departure fee will be charged for early checkouts.

Release Date:
The hotel room release date is November 20, 2010.  Reservations requests received after this will be accepted on space and rate availability basis.

Airport Transportation:
The hotel is attached to Terminal 2 of the airport and can be walked to easily. Follow the hotel signs.  The entrance to the CTA Blue Line to downtown Chicago is also across from the hotel on the lower level. Transit time to downtown Chicago is 30-40 minutes.

Parking Rates:
Hotel: Parking is $45 per day. Other parking is available around the airport at a much reduced rate with free shuttle available to the airport. These prices range from $9 to $12 per day. For example, Self Park (847-671-7275) can be called for parking reservations. Remember, the Hilton is at Terminal 2.
