COURSE DESCRIPTION AND INTENDED AUDIENCE
The intended audience for this course is health care staff who have completed a prior cardiac arrhythmia course. This course reviews new developments in arrhythmia diagnosis and treatment, and approaches more complex arrhythmia diagnoses.

1. Provide a thorough overview of cardiac arrhythmias.

2. Acquaint the learner with conditions that are associated with sudden cardiac death.

3. Present differential features for wide and narrow QRS tachycardia.

 

PARTICIPANT OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to...

1. Define 2 mechanisms of arrhythmias.

2. State current treatments for supraventricular and ventricular tachycardias.

3. Analyze ventricular and supraventricular rhythm strips.

4. Discuss disorders considered high risk for sudden cardiac death.

Day 1

         8:30am.. Arrhythmogenesis

       9:00am.. Bradycardias: Sinus node dysfunction and AV conduction disturbances

       9:30am.. Supraventicular Tachycardias: Atrial fibrillation

       10:30am.. Break

       10:45am.. SVT's (continued) Inappropriate sinus tachycardia, Atrial tachycardia, Multifocal atrial tachycardia, AVNRT, WPW

         12:30pm.. Lunch

         1:15pm.. Ventricular Arrhythmias: Benign ventricular ectopy, NSVT, AIVR, Sustained monomorphic VT, Polymorphic VT, Ventricular fibrillation, Intractable VT

         2:45pm.. Break

       3:00pm.. High Risk Disorders: Ischemic heart disease, Cardiomyopathies, Arrhythmopathies

       4:30pm.. Conclusion and Evaluation

Tuition Fee: $110. Tuition includes program syllabus, continental breakfast, breaks, lunch and Certificate of Attendance. There are no group discounts.

This program has been approved by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Provider #14076 (Critical Care Ed) and the California Board of Nursing, Provider #12206. AACN: 6.5 Contact Hours; California Board of Nursing: 81 Contact Hours, 0.81 CEUs.

FACULTY
Linda Moulton, RN MS is a cardiovascular researcher and educator, and owner of Critical Care Ed and C.C.E. Consulting, Springfield, IL. Her professional roles have included manager, educator, clinical specialist, consultant, researcher and medical writer. She has taught across the U.S., for NASPE and for industry. Guest rooms are available at reduced rates for the evenings prior to each course. Ask the hotel for the group rate for CCE Consulting. The reduced rate cut-off is 3 weeks prior to the conference dates.

The Bloomingtion Airport (Central Illinois Regional Airport is served by Air Tran, American, Delta, Northwest, and United Airlines.

Cancellations:
Cancellations may be faxed in writing. Cancellations received 7 days before the course will receive a full refund. Cancellations received after this time will be assessed a $20.00 processing fee. No refunds are given for "no shows" or cancellations received after the conference begins. A $20.00 fee is charged on any returned check. Your check must be received within ten days if you register by phone or fax or your registration may be cancelled.
